Patrick M. Roche
Pat practices in many areas of civil litigation including personal injury (minor to catastrophic/wrongful death), premises liability, UM/UIM, trucking, construction, consumer sales practices act, and more.
As a member of a collaborative multi-state litigation think tank, Pat coined the acronym OARS (Official Active Resolution Strategy) to describe a deliberate approach to litigation handling. The attorney and litigation representative work together to identify why a matter has reached litigation and identify the specific goals for each matter. Duties are then delegated among appropriate team members (litigation representative, partner, associate, paralegal, experts, etc.) to encourage efficiency. Regular follow-up OARS conferences are scheduled to foster accountability and keep matters moving toward resolution, whether through trial, settlement, dispositive motion, etc. The OARS concept has been adopted by one of CRUG’s largest insurance clients and implemented into its national defense counsel guidelines.
Pat is a member of the Westfield “Blue Ocean Think Tank” and has repeatedly been named an “Ohio Rising Star” by Cincinnati Magazine/Northern Ohio Live’s Super Lawyers Editions. Pat has won the 2013 Blue Ocean Award and OARS Award for innovation in litigation management and he’s a two-time Golden Gavel Award recipient.
