Matthew M. Duffy

Matt is a Partner with the Cleveland office. Matt has 25+ years of Insurance Defense Litigation experience, including 11+ years’ operating a statewide solo litigation office as in-house counsel for a major insurance company. Matt has defended civil lawsuits, including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and nursing home negligence throughout the State of Ohio from Cleveland to Columbus to Cincinnati and many interesting spots in between. Matt is also licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and has handled several cases (Pro Hac Vice) in both Florida and Wisconsin, including defending a construction accident/traumatic brain injury case before a Madison, Wisconsin jury.
Matt has also successfully argued before Ohio’s 3rd, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th District Courts of Appeal.
Matt lives on the west side with his wife and two sons, who are developing into young men. When Matt is not working, he plays ice hockey, year-round. Matt spent years helping coach his sons in hockey, soccer, and baseball. Matt holds a USA Hockey Level 4 lifetime coaching license.
